Cosmetic Eye Surgery
Oculofacial plastic surgery is a subspecialty of Ophthalmology that deals with the functional and aesthetic aspects of the eye and its surrounding structures. The main aim of ophthalmic plastic services is to restore the normal function of the eyelids while enhancing the appearance of the eyes and improving the patient's self-esteem and confidence. These services include the following:
- Blepharoplasty: A cosmetic procedure that removes excess skin, muscle, and fat from the upper and lower eyelids. This procedure is designed to improve the appearance of sagging, drooping, or puffy eyelids.
- Ptosis surgery: Performed to correct drooping of the upper eyelid. This can occur due to aging, injury, or neurological conditions and can obstruct vision.
- BOTOX injections: A cosmetic procedure that involves injecting BOTOX into specific facial muscles to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and crow's feet around the eyes.
- Eyelid reconstruction: This procedure involves reconstructing the eyelid after injury, trauma, skin cancer excision, or congenital deformities.
- Orbital surgery: Includes correction of any deformities or abnormalities in the orbit or eye socket, such as tumors or abnormal growths.
- Eyebrow lift: This procedure involves the repositioning of the eyebrow to a higher and more youthful position, which can help improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines in the forehead, eyelid, and eyebrow area.
At our practice, these services are performed by our experienced fellowship-trained and board-certified surgeon Aida Bounama, MD. Click the link below to learn more about how you can significantly improve the appearance of your eyes and face.
